Email has become the preferred method of introducing yourself to college coaches. Just having talent, playing for a travel team and attending showcases does not guarantee you will get discovered. Using email and some hard work, you can ensure college coaches know who you are and how to contact you. Below is an email template we put together that is a good starting point when reaching out to your coaches. Please copy and paste this email template below and fill in the necessary information when contacting college coaches. Here are a few things to remember when you begin your recruiting process:
- Have A Professional Sounding Email
- The Title Needs To Make The Coach Want To Open It
- Do Proper Research About The Current Team
- Collect The Coaches' Email And Phone Number
- Spell Check And Use Proper Grammar
- Follow Up Your Email With A Phone Call
